Elder Willie L. Manning
Willie L. Manning, a native of Crawfordville, Florida, was born January 23, 1956, to the late William Percell Manning and Ruthie Mae Bell Manning. He is one of 7 children born to William and Ruthie Manning.
Willie Manning obtained his primary and secondary education within the public schools of Wakulla County Public School System where he graduated from Wakulla High School in 1974. After graduation, Willie Manning secured employment with the United States Department of Agriculture, Forest
Services and was employed for over 38 years.
On June 20, 1991, Brother Manning was called to preach God’s Word. On October 9, 1993, he went before the Springhill Missionary Baptist Association Presbytery where he was awarded his Ministry’s Official Credentials.
Rev. Manning was called by Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church on June 17, 1995 to be our Pastor and has been serving for over 23 years.
Presently, under Pastor Manning's excellent leadership, Spring Hill is experiencing a holistic ministry that is spirit-filled. Several ministries have been established and/or reorganized under his spiritual guidance. These include Heart Health, Kitchen, Women's Ministry, Tape, Radio, and Outreach. Also under Pastor Manning's guidance we have completed phase one renovation in 2013. Our 11:00 a.m. worship service is broadcast every Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. by WSTT 730 AM Gospel Radio Station.
Pastor Manning's emphasis on the need for spiritual growth and development through the teaching of God's Word, and has resulted in an increased attendance at Bible Study and Church School. In addition, the Church School curriculum has been expanded to accommodate the participation of all age groups of the Church.
Under Pastor Manning's leadership Spring Hill has grown spiritually through meaningful worship, increased love and fellowship; increase of new members joining our flock, and structurally with the addition of church signs, handicap accessories, parking lot, and extensive renovations to the Foyer and the Sanctuary. Numerous church officials have been installed
including 6 deacons and various Ministry Leaders.
Pastor Manning continually strives for a better church and community through Christ Jesus. This is evident through the boundless energy he displays, and his enthusiasm for the growth and productivity of Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and for all of mankind everywhere. Pastor Manning is committed to winning souls for Christ and uses preaching and teaching to
provide God’s divine Word to address matters important to salvation and human existence. His focus is always on the Glory of God.
It is his belief that he should preach the word in season and out of season, but more importantly to make it plain for all to understand regardless of where they are in their spiritual growth. To put forth every effort to teach men and women about Jesus Christ with a goal of helping them understand that the only way is through Jesus Christ and to ask for forgiveness for all sins,
confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, and believe that he is Lord. Every opportunity he get he will teach that Jesus Christ died for you and him and that on the third day he got up with all power in his hand.
Pastor Manning is married to our First Lady Karen O. Rouse Manning, and sharing in their joy are their children and grandchildren.
